Castle Milan - Tour

The Castle Sforzesco was built in the XV century from Francesco Sforza, become Duke of Milan, on the rests of a precedent fortification built on the XIV century.
The building was widened by its successors: Gian Galeazzo, Giovanni Maria and Filippo Maria the result is a castle to square plant with the long sides 180 ms and four towers to the corners. The construction became so permanent abode of the dynasty viscontea.
Following the various invasions it was modified, destroyed and brought to the actual state at the end of 1800 from the architect Luca Beltrami that it submitted it to a thick restauration, almost a reconstruction, having as sweep to make to return the castle to the forms of the dominion of the Sforza. The restore was finished on the 1905, when the Tower of the Filarete was inaugurated, reconstructed in base to sketches of the XVI century and devoted Re Umberto I of Savoia , murdered few years before. Inside, museums are entertained and are turned shows and conferences.
